Course objectives
Relations of the Hallstatt and La Tene civilisations in Central Europe with their southern neighbours, notably in the Mediterranean, with East European nomadic peoples and also in thewest, in frame of the La Tene civilisation and the Celtic invasions. The end of the Celtic civilisation in Centrakl Euerope and its replacement by the Germanic tribes in the north, and by the Roman empire in the south.

  • End of Bronze Age and beggining of Iron Age, Myth and reality. Greek myths and first information about the Kelts. Late Hallstadt Period and Mediterranean South influences: etruscans and the amber road East influences: Scyths and Thracians Beginning of La Tene Art Kelts in north Italy Kelts in Balcans, Greece and Asia Minor Kelts in Hellenistic Armies Middle La Tene Period and its relation to Mediterranea Kelts in Italy - 3rd and early 2nd Century BC.
