Course objectives
The students will get basic notions in Basque language on different aspects of the language.
Learning outcomes
The students will be able to have basic conversation in Basque language, comprehend its grammatical structure and acquire basic declensions.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction: Welcome to the País Vasco. Phonics and spelling of the Basque language 2. Verb Izan. Linguistic typology 3. Greetings, name, origin. 4. Numbers. Age, phone number, address. 5. Verb UKAN. Question words. 6. Physical and Personality characteristics. Professions 7. Grammar of Basque. Grammatical aspect and declension / 8. Requesting and giving information on the street. Verb EGON 9. Ordering food and drinks in restaurants.

Teaching methods
The exercises we will do during the classes are, by and large, group exercises and require the active participation of students. There will also be individual works to be performed at home.
Assessment methods
Written test (%70). Participation (%30): in addition to active participation and homework, to aim these points is essential to attend classes.
