Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the topic of psychosomatics from the perspective of clinical psychology. Particular attention will be paid to classification, diagnosis and appropriate psychological and psychotherapeutic interventions.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
1) to orientate oneself in the issue of psychosomatic disorders
2) to be familiar with the etiology and appropriate psychological approach to psychosomatic disorders.
Syllabus
  • The course is designed as a combination of personal meetings and self-study. The individual chapters will correspond in general to the following syllabus: 1. Somatoform and conversion disorders 2. Psychological and behavioral factors, associated with diseases or disorders classified elsewhere 3. Mental disorders with somatic manifestation 4. Psychodynamics of psychosomatic disorders 5. Case studies 6. Self-experience (imaginative techniques, relaxation techniques)
