Course objectives
Introduction. Importance of water in the landscape. Hydrology as a branch of science, historical outline, organization of hydrological service. Water reserves and circulation on the Earth - fundamental balance relations. Hydrography of rivers. River network and river beds. Hydrology of rivers. Regime of rivers and its anthropogenic effect, hydrological forecasts. Subsurface water. Limnology and hydrobiology of swamps. Oceanography - properties of sea water, problems of its pollution; movements of sea water, sea currents.
