Basic knowledge of PC operations: a) Windows b) Operations with files (copy, rename, delete) c) Text editor (e.g. MS Word) d) Basic knowledge of English is required e) E-mail communication required

(1) Electronic mail, mailers, principals of e-mail handling, security (2) Excel - data import, graphs, basic statistic operations (3) Usenet Newsgroups - electronic conference (4) Internet - WWW - HTML language - HTML editors (5) Biological databases on WWW. Searching for information on WWW. (6) Homepages of universities and academic institutions (7) Libraries, Journals and Information databases. Electronic journals and textbooks. (8) Graphic databases - maps, satelite images, interactive maps, graphic formats, image analysis. (9) Numeric databases - time series, trends, biologic databases, genome, biodiversity. (10) Biochemical and Molecular biology related www sources. (11) Interactive computer-aided learning. Combined databases - dictionaries, encyclopaedia, determination tools. (12) Software (most frequent software in biological diciplines) (13) Multimedia on WWW.
