Course objectives
Situation and changes on the world market of raw material. Economical recession in developed countries and its influence on industrial production. The restructuralisation of industrial production in countries of Eastern Europe. The privatisation of industry in the Czech Republic with emphasis on companies privatised by voucher privatisation. The dynamic development of industry in countries of South-Eastern Asia. Industry and ist role in the developing countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America. Expected trends in the development of industry until the year 2000.
Syllabus
  • 1. Changes in the world market with natural resources in the 1990s and contemporary situation. 2. Natural resources in the Czech Republic, mining corporations. 3. Energetics in the world and the Czech Republic, contemporary situation and perspectives. 4. Development of manufacturing industry in the world and the Czech Republic with emphasis on the period after 1989. 5. Food industry in the Czech Republic – development, present situation, expected trends. 6. Textile, cloth and leather making industry in the Czech Republic. 7. Electrotechnic industry in the Czech Republic. 8. Metallurgy, metal working industry, machinery in the Czech Republic. 9. Other branches of manufacturing industry. 10. Comparative analysis of transformation of manufacturing industry in transitive economics of central and eastern Europe. 11. Contemporary tendencies in development of industrial production in developed market economies, restructuring and globalization. 12. Contemporary tendencies in development of industrial production in other world countries. 13. Industrial regions in the Czech Republic and world.
