Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- search of the scientific information in biology
- understand and apply basic rules for writing special text
- elaborate high-quality diploma thesis both in contentual and also in formal page technicality
- formulate questions and answers and argue in scientific discussions within the field of molecular biology and genetics
- evaluate lectures of other lecturers, judge of quality lecture
- use the basic of rhetoric and correct lecturing in science

  • Most frequent mistakes
  • Contentual part of diploma thesis (DT) (literary resources and their processing)
  • Formal part DT (structure, text processing)
  • Processing and interpretation of gained results, tables, schemes, graphs, photographs, appendixes
  • Most frequent mistakes in separate of parts DT
  • Poster - structure, preparation, presentation, mistakes
  • Grant application - sorts of grants, structure, most frequent mistakes
  • Practical exercises: presentation of own lecture and group evaluation
  • Evaluation of choisen diploma thesis
