- Course objectives
- Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to provide an overview of models and theories of settlement system development; to introduce the methods and techniques of inter-urban linkages analysis; to depict actual processes shaping contemporary settlement system at national and European scale.

- 1. Static theories and settlement systems models;
- 2. Dynamic theories and settlement systems models;
- 3. General aspects of socio-demographic systems dvelopment (M. Hampl);
- 4. Global settlement system/system of global cities;
- 5. Trajectories of European settlement system development;
- 6. European urban development - contemporary analyses;
- 7. Polycentric settlement systems.
