Course objectives
At the end of the course students should understand, how to do a design and implementation of interactive WWW pages and services.
In a first part of a lecture, student will learn programming on a client side and developing scripts for active behaviour of the page. A student will apply this know-how in a development of particuar scripts and WWW applications.
In a second part, student will obtain an experience about a programming on a server side, processing of data provided by client and providing of a controlled access to data stored on server. Also in this part, student will use his knowledges in pracice.

  • Interaction of a page with an user without programming.
  • Programming on a client side - script languages.
  • Objects, properties, attributes, methods.
  • Interaction of a script with a page – DOM.
  • Scripts and cascade styles.
  • Communication client-server, protocol HTTP, formulars.
  • Asynchroneous client-server communication, AJAX.
  • Programming on server side – CGI, PHP, ASP.
  • Variables, data types, basic commands.
  • Structred data types, objects.
  • Storage of data, files, cooperation with databases.
  • State information and cookies.
