Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepen theoretical and methodological knowledge of regional development and regional policy in relation to the dissertation topic.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- identify regional development theories relevant to the topic of their dissertation;
- critically evaluate the contribution of selected regional development theories;
- identify regional policy instruments relevant to the dissertation topic.
Syllabus
  • At the first meeting, students will present the topic of their dissertation and will identify a group of theories of regional development, which could be theoretically framed by their research. Subsequently, students will be given a reading of relevant literature and at subsequent meetings, they will be critically interpreted in the form of a discussion with the teachers.

Teaching methods
The course will take the form of personal consultations between the lecturers and students. The focus of the work is the self-study of texts.
Assessment methods
Discussion of the content of the read texts that are relevant to the thematic content of the subject and the theoretical understanding of the student's dissertation. The subject of the evaluation is a critical interpretation of the texts for the dissertation.
