Course objectives
The main goal of this theoretical course is to prepare students for C6920 Chemistry and methods of conservation-restoration of objects made from inorganic materials II - practical course.

The main goal of this theoretical course is to prepare students for C6920 Chemistry and methods of conservation-restoration of objects made from inorganic materials II - practical course.
Syllabus
  • The course will be devoted to following topics:
  • l.Cleaning of ceramics - object investigation, mechanical and chemical cleaning
  • 2:Cleaning of glass. Cleaning of gypsum artifacts.
  • 3:Gluing of ceramics. Shapes for fill materials.
  • 4:Gluing of glass. Filling-in of ceramics.
  • 5:Filling-in of glass. Cementation of ceramics and glass.
  • 6:Cleaning and conservation of mineralogical samples designated for collection purposes.
  • 7:Conservation of historical stone architectonic element made from arenaceous marl.
  • 8:Conservation and partial restoration of historical stone element made from sandstone.
  • 9:Restoration of architectonic element made from marble by using artificial stone.
  • 10:Utilization of plasma pencil for surface treatment of various materials.
  • 11:Utilization of low-pressure hydrogen plasma for reduction of corrosion formed on metallic objects.
