Course objectives
Presentation of selected old cartographic materials with the special focus on Czech production and practical experience with old map information using. Also the excursion to the notable archiving institutions.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- understand the evolution of Czech cartography;
- methodically use the old maps and atlases;
Syllabus
  • 1. Definitions and terms. 2. Czech lands on the oldest maps. 3. Private cartography of the Czech lands. 4. Cadastral mapping. 5. Military mapping. 6. Presentation of selected issues connected with old maps. 7. The role of the archiving institutions.
