Course objectives
This course is compiled from various lectures on anthropological and archaeological themes. These lectures are held by specialists from Czech Republic and abroad. Students of the bachelor, pregradual and postgradual study programs are invited to present their theses. The main objective of the course is to introduce the latest findings in anthropology and related fields of science to the students of anthropology.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student should be able to interconnect the information he/she learns from various disciplines closely or more loosely related to anthropology and use the acquired information for further study. The student should be able to understand the holistic approach to anthropology and the width of anthropology's scope across scientific disciplines.
Syllabus
  • Presentations by invited specialists in selected fields of anthropology or related disciplines. The lectures are held in Czech, Slovak and English, and can be in a presence form or online.
Literature
Teaching methods
Lectures of invited speakers, followed by open discussion. The students are motivated to participate, ask questions and to express their opinions. The lectures are held in Czech, Slovak and English, and can be in a presence form or online.
Assessment methods
To earn credit presence at the seminars is required, one unexcused absence is tolerated. To earn credit it is also required that the student turns in a brief written summary of each seminar.
