Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Advanced common methods of data processing and astronomical observations are learned. Students will be have ability to process various astronomical data (acquired by both optical telescopes and spacecrafs) including their intrepretation.
Learning outcomes
A massive data-processing of astronomical data
All observation, processing and interpretation of a light curve of a selected object.
Photometrical calibration of an apparatus
Advanced methods of astronomical photometry like the surface photometry.
Colour photometry of stellar clusters.
Syllabus
  • Advanced methods of astronomical photometry:
  • colour diagram and basic characteristics of an open cluster,
  • profiles of galaxies,
  • data-processing of observations by spacecraft,
  • light curve of any variable star, exoplanet or asteroid,
  • colour calibration of a photometry system.

Processed data with results and their interpretation as homeworks are assessmented. The final assessment is taken view on quality of reports and deadlines.
