- Course objectives
- The subject goes in for application of computer technology in physics teaching. It introduces into area of instrument connecting to the interfaces of personal computer and instrument controlling from the environment of programming language Pascal. It acquaints also with commercial school and professional measuring systems and available hardware of personal computer. Basic knowledge of work with PC is only expected. Welcomed is knowledge of some programming language.
- Syllabus
- 1. The communication interface of PC. The bus of a computer. Interface CENTRONICS, RS-232C, IEEE-488, IEEE 488.2. ADDA board (A/D & D/A converters, multiplexer, counter/timer, sources of constant current). 3. Programmable multimeters (METEX, PROTEX, HP34401A), power supplies and other instruments. 4. Borland Delphi, components for instrument control. Programming measurements under OS Windows. 5. Professional environments for a control of experiments (Control Panel, LabView). 6. The computer and video. VGA/Audio Video Converter card. 7. Video Blasters. School systems ISES, IP-COACH, CASSY and EMGO. 8. Application of Sound Blasters in physics teaching. 9. Bases of networks. INTERNET and physics teaching. Modems.
