Course objectives
Lecture includes determination of common central European freshwater algae. Ecology of freshwater algae from lakes, ponds, rivers and another biotops important for protection. Each theme includes as theory of sampling methods as interpretation of algological data.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction, literature. 2. The characteristics and classification of the main water biotops. 3. Ecology and features of the important members of algae and cyanobacteria in these biotops. 4. The sampling methods and data acquisition in the different biotops 5. The determination and taxonomic methods. 6. Cultivation Methods 7. The data evaluation and interpretation methods 8. The lakes, ponds, reservoirs and pools. 9. The running waters. 10. Ocean and sea biotops 11. Wetlands 12. Soil and aerophytic algae 13. Special biotops (phycobionts, zoobionts, parasite algae atc.) 14. Extreme biotops 15. Last conclusion
