- Course objectives
- The course is devoted mainly for students of the geology (master program.) The main goal is the introduce to ground water flow problematics and methods of determination of hydraulic properties of geological materials.
- Syllabus
- Porosity and permeability of geological materials
- Flow in saturated and unsaturated zone, ground water movement, two-fluid flow systems
- Flow in porous, fracturated and carstic rocks
- Steady and nonsteady flow, Darcy's Law
- Hydraulic conductivity and methods of it's determination
- Transmissivity and storativity of geological materials
- Pumping and recovery tests, slug/bail test
- Theis method, Cooper-Jacob method, Neuman method, Hvorslev method, Theis and Jacob recovery tests, well performance test
- Boundary conditions; types and determination
- Introduce to groundwater flow modelling
