Course objectives
Basic information in biology of cells, starting from the primitive one-cell organisms to the specialized cells of the most developped animal body.
Syllabus
  • 1. Safety guidelines for laboratory work, 2. Basic operational procedures for work with standard light microscope,, demonstrations of elektrone microscope, 3. Practising of examination of biological materiál, preparation of native symplex, slicing of plant tissues, 4. Non-nuclear cells, protofyt size, metabolism, bakteria and cyanophytes as examples, EM photoes, video, 5. Eucaryotic cell. Eucyt size, basic and specific attributes, including physical and chemical characteristics, structure, oraganels, organoids, 5.1. Single cell organisms (Chromista, Fungi, Algae etc.) 5.2. Single cell organisms (protozoa), 5.3 Multi-cell organisms (Plantae), 5.4 Multi-cell organisms (animalia), 5. Cell metabolism (energy sources in cell, differences between plant and anímal cell, role of nuclear acids, euchromatine, heterochromatine, polyten chromosomes, multiplied nuclei, tec.) , 6. Development of multicellular organism in ontogenesis (differentiation, mitosis, meiosis, other type sof cell division, growth and development), 7. Cell sof plant tissues (root, stem, leaf), 8. Cell of key anímal tissues (epitels, connecting tissues, body liquids, muscles, nerves), 9. Specialized cells in animal organs (cover, skeleton, movement, excretion, resorption, respiration, secretion, transport of nutrients, oxygen and waste metabolites, receptors, nervous system), 10. Reproduction of animals
