The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present basic informations dealing with the theory of deterministic discrete models (i.e. theory of difference equations) and to ilustrate general theory by selected applications coming from biology, economy and humanities.
Syllabus
  • Basic concepts of calculus of differences and sums. Linear difference equations of the first and higher orders. Stability of solutions of linear difference equations. Nonlinear equations, stationary solutions, stability. Chaos. Selected concrete models.
