Course objectives
Prof. Jan Bergman is going to inform public about his knowledge of reactivity in pyrrole and indole chemistry in connection with biological properties of the mentioned molecules. The aim of lecture is students introduction to understanding of chemical behaviour and ways to preparations and derivatization leading to physiologically active molecules.
Syllabus
  • Recent Development in the field of Pyrrole and Indole Chemistry with applications in medicinal chemistry. Pyrrole and its benzofused cousin, indole, are of paramount importance as intergral parts in many natural products and medicinal drugs. Some examples will be given but the major focus will be on recent developments of synthetic methods and understanding of reactivity.
