Course objectives
At the end of the course students get the folloving skills:
Measurement of the basic physical quantities in Mechanics, Thermics a Electricity.
Evaluation of the experimenatl data including experimental error analysis.
Writting a report.
Syllabus
  • Introduction, experimental report, safety in laboratory. Theory of experimental errors. 1. Measurement of density of solid cylinder. 2. Measurement of electrical resistance of resistor. 3. Density, viscosity and surface tension of liquids. 4. Measurement of gravitational constant and free-fall acceleration. 5. Measurement of elastic modulus. 6. Electrical calorimeter. 7. Poisson constant of air. 8. Measurement of temperature. 9. Measurement of voltage and current. 10. Thermal conductivity.

Teaching methods
Laboratory excercise.
Assessment methods
The measurement of all given experimental problems, successful hand-in of all measurement reports and obtaining 50% of points in answering the question sets during preparation for the lessons are required to obtain the credit. To be let to measure, it is required to pass (60 %) written test from theory of measurement errors in the third week of semester within the learning of the first two teaching blocks.
