- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the archaeobotanical method of macroremain analysis and with the content of archaeobotanist's work.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introductory lesson; basic stereomicroscope operation; extraction of botanical material from archaeological sample; introduction to cereals
- 2. Identification and quantification of cereal chaff (recent and archaeological material)
- 3. Identification and quantification of cereal grains (recent and archaeological material)
- 4. Identification and quantification of arable species (pulses, fibre and oil crops, fruits and nuts)
- 5. Identification and quantification of wild plant seeds
- 6. Analysis of archaeobotanical sample from the site Těšetice-Kyjovice "Sutny"
