Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The rates of many reactions depend on acids and bases, not just protons and hydroxyl ions but general acids and bases as well. How are these dependencies quantified experimentally and what can they tell us about the reaction mechanisms? How does one interpret pH–rate profiles? Rates of keto–enol reactions determined by flash photolysis will be discussed.
