Course objectives
The aim of the seminar is to acquaint students with various forms of teaching at secondary school, performed by various teachers. The seminar is based on the cycle of lesson observing, mainly in physics at secondary schools, which is followed by critical discussion of individual lessons with active participation of students. Within the framework of the seminar the students elaborate some other problems of secondary education. The seminar partly follows the Physical and pedagogical seminar F7651, it develops and completes the themes, dealing with the content of work of secondary school physics teacher. At the end of the course student should be able to give overview of teaching methods in the secondary-school teaching. They are basically aware of problems in secondary-school education. Can create a short didactic test.
Syllabus
  • 1. The teacher`s thematic plans. 2. The safety of the work in classrooms and in laboratories. 3. The legislative of school and a teacher. 4. The observations of physics lessons: The analyssis of lessons, The motivation and activity of students, Teaching methods, Experiments, Using didactic techniques, Methods of testing students` knowledge. 5. The evaluation and filling of the students` knowlwdge. The training of students for their final exams and for entrance university examinations. 6. The creation of short didactic tests

Teaching methods
theoretical preparation; observing physics lessons; discussion of lessons with active participation; homeworks; work with class book and class report; creation of didactic tests;
Assessment methods
The students prepare minutes from the observed lessons and their analyses. These minutes are materials for seminar discussions. Participation in lesson observations, active participation in seminary discussions and solution of the given problem are required to obtain the credit.
