- Physics (programme PřF, N-FY)
- Course objectives
- The course contains an overview of electronic and vibronic structure of semiconductors, the concept of hterostructure and basic information on tchnologies for atomically flat interfaces. It deals comprehensively with quasiparticles in low-dimesnional structures, transport and optical properties. The main aim is at providing a sound orientation in the dynamically growing field of condensed matter research.
- Syllabus
- 1. Overview of electronic and vibronic structure of semiconductors. 2. Heterostructures. 3. Technologies for atomically flat interfaces. 4. Kvasiparticles in low-dimesnional structures. 5. Transport properties. 6. Optical properties. 7. Optoelektronic applications.
- Literature
- Teaching methods
- lectures, seminars
- Assessment methods
- Attending the lectures is not compulsory, however, it greatly facilitates passing the course. Several themes are selected during the semester for discussion, requiring prior homework. Passing the colloquium is based on a fair orientation of the student in selected areas of the field.
- Language of instruction
- Czech
- Further comments (probably available only in Czech)
- The course is taught once in two years.
The course is taught: every week.
