It is strongly recommended to have a general knowledge in Category Theory, namely: basic definitions, yoneda lemma, (co)limits and adjunctions.

The aim of the course is to provide students with some technical tools and to introduce them to the most classical results in the subject.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • Topics that will be covered include: - Free (co)completion and Kan Extensions. - Adjoint Functor Theorem. - Generators and Projectives. - Freyd-Mitchell Theorem. - A Glance in Algebraic Theories. - Monads: A general theory - Enriched Category Theory: enriching Yoneda.
Teaching methods (in Czech)
This is a seminar reading. Students will have to prepare seminars. The object of the seminar will be provided by the lecturer of the course. Some special seminars will be held by the lecturer or some special guest.
