Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students an overview of basic anthropological theories in the biological, cultural and social anthropology. At the end of this course the student will be able to list basic anthropological paradigms, define different views on people and culture and will be able to understand and explain the current trends in the field of anthropology.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course student will be able to: • - identify and summarize important features of the different anthropological paradigms; • - describe current trends in general anthropology; • - understand the problems of today's globalized society; • - propose an appropriate research method of contemporary human society phenomenon.

Witchcraft, Sorcery and Ritual. • 10. Anthropology and Archaeology. • 11. Anthropology and the Concept of Race, Ethnicity. • 12. Modern Trends in Anthropology. • 13. Fieldwork and Reflexivity.

Theoretical preparation, class discussion, reading papers.
Assessment methods
To earn credits, presence at lectures is recommended; the course is concluded with written exam - to pass the exam successfully the student must prove good knowledge of the issues discussed during lectures and in the required reading. Depending on the current situation, the possibility of a distance form of exam - students will allways be informed.
