- Workshop to the C5985 Chemistry and methods of conservation of objects made from organic material I course. In the course, theoretical aspects of single practical exercises will be discussed.

- Syllabus
- The content of the workshop corresponds to the content of C5985 course. Conservation-restoration approaches will be discussed for following practical tasks:
- PAPER
- 1. Drying of wet-and-frost paper material by microwave lyophlization.
- 2. Vacuum impregnation.
- 3. Paper as an object of conservation and restoration investigation.
- 4. Determination of alkali reserve, measuring pH and deacidification of paper.
- 5. Removing of visible damaging of paper I.
- 6. Removing of visible damaging of paper II.
- LEATHER
- 7. Practical application of conservation procedures in the course of leather treatment I.
- 8. Practical application of conservation procedures in the course of leather treatment II.
- WOOD
- 9. Macroscopic determination of wood samples I.
- 10. Macroscopic determination of wood samples II.
- TEXTILE
- 11. Textile as s object of investigation, documentation, survey and sampling.
- 12. Textile material, its treatment, damaging, pollution.
- 13. Determination of dye on textile plant fibres.
