Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is only offered to the students of the study fields the course is directly associated with.
fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
Course objectives
Students learn the basic work in a chem. laboratory (filtration, distillation, sublimation), the first aid and rules with chemical handling. Students: - learn basic safety and fire regulations and form a habit for safe laboratory work - learn determinations of simple physico-chemical measurements a their evaluation - are taught about handling with simple chemical apparatuses and learn to operate with them under their safe work - carry out more advanced experiments a learn to make a report containing results, graphs, figures, tables
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to perform the basic tasks in the chemical laboratory independently, assemble the apparatus, synthesize and characterize some substances. The students will be able to evaluate results and write a report.

Teaching methods
Laboratory course involves training of basic laboratory techniques, calculations and drawing up the report
Assessment methods
Laboratory course takes place every week. Readiness od every student is checked by a short testing or by oral examination. All calculations must be prepared before the course beginning. A student is obliged to have a laboratory book. Missed courses have to be properly excused and it is necessary to do them in alternative time limit. Requirements for gaining credits: a) presence in all courses times b)knowledge of principles and instructions for all excercised tasks, stoichiometric and diluting calculations, titration calculations c)making af single excercise reports d)succsessful execution of the test from laboratory techniques e)paying for laboratory glass apparatuses broken due to own faults
Language of instruction
