- Course objectives
- Relevant only for the IMAZ study plan (International Master Programme in Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution - Double): The exam is a part of the thesis defence. The applicant will be asked questions specific to his thesis and the closely related disciplines (Entomology, Hydrobiology, Animal Behavior, Parasitology, and Soil Zoology) as well as more general questions from Animal Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He should demonstrate the ability to orient himself in these disciplines.
- Learning outcomes
- understand and describe general laws of macroecology, animal community and population ecology understand basic principles of evolution from molecules to organisms, including humans and their cultures explaine current knowledge of phylogeny and system of invertebrate or vertebrate animals, evolution of their organ systems and developmental morphology understand and apply knowledge on autecology of selected animal taxa, particularly those from Central Europe
