Cíle předmětu
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain some biophysical principles of imaging methods (ultrasound, infrared thermography, MRI, CT, ECG) and principles of electron miscroscopy. At the end of this course, the student will also have to demonstrate basic skills of microscopy, spectrophotometry, refractometry and also habits in data handling and processing of health-related data

  • Practical exercises on biophysics 1. Information resources (data mining - data warehousing). Information systems (HIS, expert systems, AI, CME). 2. Measurement of liquid viscosity. Measurement of surface tension of liquids 3. Eosin absorption curve. Spectrophotometrical determination of the concentration of eosin. Refractometric determination of NaCl concentration. 4. Temperature measurement with a thermocouple. Measuring surface skin temperature with a thermistor. Measuring environmental parameters (noise). 5. Haemolysis of erythrocyte suspension by therapeutic ultrasound. Measuring ionizing radiation absorption. 6. Measuring the voltage and frequency of electric signals by the oscilloscope.
