- Course objectives
- Economy of Public Administration Organisations (PVEOVS) The course offers the student a possibility to get acquainted with the economic, management and legal aspects of activities of institutional branches, satisfying "social needs" by providing the services, which represent typical public goods. Topics of the first part study the position, functions and functioning of fiscal institutions in the Czech economic system. Further topics include economy, organization and management of the public administration, army, police, and the prison system. A significant part of lectures is constituted by comparing solutions of economic and management aspects in the public administration, justice, police and army in EU countries. The Czech Army is compared with the NATO system. Due to large sums of public finance allocated to these branches, the course offers excursions and a practical exercise, in which the student can consolidate theoretical knowledge of public tendering, evaluation of public projects, public choice and public auditing. Credit requirements: undertaking an economic and management project in some governmental body. Examination: oral.
