Course objectives
Statistics II (PMSTII) At the beginning, the course finishes some topics of calculus of probabilities: law of averages, central limit theorem and the properties of normal as well as derived exact distributions with quantile tables. Convergence of asymptotic formulas necessary in economic tasks is performed on the computer. The principal aim is to describe basic terms of inductive statistics: parametric functions, source and derived statistics, decision rules, reliability intervals, statistical hypotheses testing, etc. Different situations for comparing random choices are explained: two or more independent or pair or block conjugated random samples. Computer-aided solution of economic tasks using normal distribution, contingency tables and multidimensional regression analysis. Notion of simple, stratified and quota selective enquiry. Credit requirements: adequately active attendance at exercise and computer sessions, success at progress test. Examination: written and oral from course Statistics I and Statistics II.
