Course objectives
The course introduces the basic concepts of medical psychiatry and its focus. In each of theses are recited fundamentals of general and special psychiatry with regard to field of study physiotherapy.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- acquires basic theoretical knowledge in the field of clinical psychology and psychiatry;
- can apply knowledge in the area of prevention, identification and further management of selected mental disorders / disorders;
- will be able to apply theoretical psychological principles in working with selected groups of clients / patients.
Syllabus
  • Lectures:
  • 01. General psychiatry:
  • - introduction to psychiatry, basic concepts, history;
  • - municipal psychopathology;
  • - etiology and pathogenesis of mental disorders.
  • 02. Special psychiatry:
  • - organically and symptomatically conditioned mental disorders;
  • - addictive disorders;
  • - schizophrenia;
  • - affective disorders;
  • - neurotic disorders, stress-induced disorders, somatophoric disorders;
  • - eating disorders, sleep disorders;
  • - sexual dysfunction;
  • - specific personality disorders;
  • - mental retardation.
  • 03. Prevention and treatment in psychiatry.
  • 05. The role of physiotherapy in psychiatry.
  • 06. Clinical psychology:
  • - content and content of clinical psychology (neuropsychology, oncopsychology);
  • - causes of psychological changes in physically ill;
  • - the content of psychological changes, particularly in the field of traumatology and surgery;
  • experiencing the disease in time (psychology of disability);
  • - influencing the psyche of patients from the perspective of a physiotherapist;
  • - basic concepts of mental hygiene and characteristics of mental health.
  • Seminars: correspond thematically with lectures and are complemented by case studies from clinical practice.
