- Course objectives
- The course discusses developments in the EU from the end of the Cold War until today. It focuses on relevant issues of the integration process. It is based on lectures, class discussions and presentations of various positions present in the debates. The objectives of the course are to explain a modern development of the EU, analyse key points in particular areas of integration and practise argumentation skills.

- Explain main changes of the European integration process after 1989.
Identify controversial issues in the key areas of integration.
Demonstrate arguments on a given topic.

- Teaching methods
- The course consists of lectures mixed together with seminars including class discussions. Every student have to submit six short position papers and to participate on the three group projects. Position paper topics and tasks of group projects will be specified and assigned in advance by lecturers. Students should be ready to discuss their views in the seminars. It is necessary to prepare a common presentation for each group project.
- Assessment methods
- All the course requirements are necessary to complete the course and to receive a final grade (A-F). Every student must submit six position papers, participate in the seminars and complete the final test (composed of open questions).
Final grades will be made following according to the following scale: A. 50-47 points, B. 46-43 points, C. 42-39 points, D. 38-35 points, E. 34-32 points, F. 31 and less points. - Language of instruction
