Course objectives
The course aiming on encouraging of critical and scientific thinking in psychology and within pop-psychological discourse as well. The students will be able to identify and analyse coercive tools, generalizations and simplifikations leading to distorted prezentations of psychology knowledge.
Learning outcomes
Student would be able:
- to identify unproper distortions and simplicities in psychology;
- to use better arguments in discussions on psychology knowledge;
- to describe scientific and non-scientific approach and show it at examples;
- to lead a debate on ethical issues in psychologist work;
- to indentify fallacies and traps often used by argumentations;
- to recognize biases which represent complications in proper used psychology.

  • Propedeutics in sceience.
  • Various discurses in science and behinds frontiers.
  • Myths in psychology and debunking of myths.
  • Information and misinformation in psychology.
  • How to think critically, and how to make scientifically based corrections.
  • Ethics. Ethical issues.
  • Psychology not only in replication crisis.
  • Dead ends in psychology.
  • Mandatory directions in psychology and science.
