Course objectives
The seminar focuses on analysing selected Czech culture magazines and journals of the 20th century. Students will learn through their presentations to characterise each title generally, and to analyze specific texts subsequently. The aim is to inform students about the magazines of the past. At the end of the course students should be able to work with information on Czech culture magazines in practice.
Syllabus
  • 1. Characteristics of a selected magazine: period of publishing, periodicity, profile, columns and sections, and key authors. 2. Analysis of selected texts: genre, thematic and language points of view. 3. Discussion and inspiration for practice.
