Cíle předmětu
The course focuses on communication skills applicable in writing effective conference and MA thesis abstracts, creating quality posters in terms of language and design and preparing and delivering engaging poster presentations.
Výstupy z učení
Students should have minimum knowledge of English corresponding to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Students must write a one-page motivation letter demonstrating their level of English knowledge and explaining their motives for attending the course.
After completing the course, students will be able to:
- write effective conference and MA thesis abstracts
- create quality posters in terms of language and design
- prepare and deliver engaging poster presentations
Students are going to learn how to use Sketchengine (Masaryk University text corpus query system) when preparing an academic text in English. They are also going to receive a detailed feedback on their written work by a professional editor (a native speaker of English).
