Course objectives
The aim of the course is: - to get a basic idea of the discipline of private international law in a historical context; - to get a basic idea of Czech - national and EU private international law; - to get a basic idea of the sources of legal regulation and their mutual links /interaction/; - to get a basic idea of the legal regulation of obligations arising from contracts with an international element.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - identify the essential features of private international law; - identify the sources of legislation; - determine the links between them; - to determine in its basic form the legal regulation of contracts with an international element pursuant to the Rome I Regulation.

Teaching methods
Teaching will be carried out: Frontal teaching method with the personal participation of the student in the faculty building when an initial mandatory consultation will take place including the definition of the issues and systematics, key concepts and institutes, assignment of the course completion. Synchronous form through three continuous mandatory group consultations implemented in MS Teams environment, the following methods will be implemented (to be selected according to the reality): group and cooperative learning, critical thinking, project-based learning, problem solving from practice, brainstorming, emphasis will be placed on providing feedback, not frontal teaching Asynchronous form (individual guided self-study) from supplied materials in the IS and/or textbooks (study texts, video, podcasts, presentations with audio track and other interactive materials)
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Předmět je ukončen kolokviem. Na něj si studenti připraví seminární práci na zadané téma. Seminární práce bude na počátku semestru, ještě před prvou kontaktní výukou, uvedena v rozpisu v interaktivní osnově. Předpokládá se prezentace tématu na samostatném střetnutí.
