General social overview. Knowledge of the basis of functioning of constitutional institutions and political parties. Knowledge of recent election results.

Course objectives
We will discuss selected issues from political science and illustrate them in Czech examples.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to define key terms and illustrate them on Czech examples.
Syllabus
  • 1.a 2. Key terms, political system, its components and functions, party system.
  • 3. a 4. Elections and electoral system, practical demonstration (conversion of votes into seats).
  • 5. Milestones of the political system in the Czech Republic.
