Course objectives
Aim of this subject is to deepen students knowledge of both substantive and procedural criminal law in European context and, thus, prepare students for qualified academic work in these branches of law.
Syllabus
  • 1. Criminal law in the early period of state development 2. Development of ex officio prosecution, concept of crime 3. First codification of substantive criminal law 4. Development of punishments 5. Principals of modern criminal law 6. Formation of criminal law as an autonomous branch of law and its characteristics in the Middle Ages 7. Genesis of modern criminal law and its particular principles 8. Criminal law as instrument of state repression 9. Formation of international criminal law
