Course objectives
The subject is focused on the concept of marriage, its conclusion, rights and duties of spouses, and its divorce, mainly in comparison with other forms of cohabitation: de facto or registered partnership.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able after the lectures define the concept of marriage, its conclusion, the rights and duties of spouses, and the divorce, mainly in comparison with other forms of cohabitation: de facto or registered partnership.

  • 1. Marriage and its historical context. 2. Forms of concluding marriage. 3. Voidable marriage, non-existing marriage. 4. Divorce. 5. Divorce in the European dimension. Principles by the CEFL. 6. Other forms of cohabitation and their institutionalization.
