Course objectives
This subject is understood to be a combination of theory and practice. This subject concept results from the profile of a midwife. It is focused on implication, goals, basic concepts and principles of education for reproductive health. It is focused on specifics of educational process in health care provided to woman, child and the whole family in all evolutional periods. It is resource of student‘s personality forming for midwifery work. Learning outcomes – student will be able to: - Explain importance of reproductive health education and responsible parenthood, to apply obtained knowledge in practice, give information and advices regarding wealthy planned parenthood, enlighten sexual education methods and practices, describe all contraception forms and explain how to use them properly.
Syllabus
  • Content: Reproduction health in our country and in Europe. Reproduction health and assisted reproduction. Sexual education in different age and sex. Children’s sexual behavior – family and socio-sexual problems in nursery schools, sexual education conception in primary schools, sexual education of teenagers and adolescents, sexual problems in adulthood, in menopause, in late post menopause phase. Man and woman sexual life hygiene. Natural methods of parenthood planning, female and male contraception. Planned parenthood education, family and marriage counseling within sexual education system. Female sexual dysfunction, male sexual dysfunction, homosexuality, community and AIDS problems in the Czech republic. Termination of pregnancy – pro and con, ethical and psychological aspects of unwanted pregnancy.
