Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are introducing basic information about personality psychology, developmental psychology, structure and dynamics of personality. Ego defense mechanisms, psychological examinations, role of medical care givers, psychological reactivity of patient. Anxiety, aggressiveness and depression management by psychological tools.
Syllabus
  • Definition of psychology. Methods of psychological examination. History of psychology. Important psychologists in history of psychology. Developmental psychology. Dynamic conception of ontogenesis. Prenatal and perinatal period. Infancy, toddler and preschool period. School age, puberty, adolescence, adulthood, old age. Cognition, Motivation, Personality, structure of personality. Ego defense mechanisms. Personality of patient and health caregiver. Influence of medical surroundings to patient. Psychological reactivity of patient. Burn-out syndrome. Psychoneuroimunology. Anxiety, aggressiveness and depression management by psychological tools. Motivation and its main terms. Communication and kinds of dialogue. Social communication and specific communication in medical field. Mistakes and faults in patient – healthcare provider communication. Giving information. Assertiveness and its use in communication in medical field. Psychology of commerce – definition and subject. Psychology of advertising and propagation – targets, influence, different kinds of propagation tools. Motivation dialogues, communication skills.
