Course objectives
The course builds on relevant lectures and aims to demonstrate to the student in real operation all the basic facts in the cultivation of cells in vitro.
Learning outcomes
The graduate will be able to:
- perform all basic activities in the cell culture laboratory.
- design a method of handling cells
- create all the technical prerequisites for it.
Syllabus
  • The following will be demonstrated and rehearsed:
  • - Elements of sterility assurance
  • - Principles of good laboratory practice in the culture laboratory
  • - Media preparation
  • - Storage of material
  • - Passaging of cells
  • - Routine microscopic observation of cells

Teaching methods
block course with a total of 45 hours, with demonstrations and training in the actual operation of the cultivation laboratory.
Assessment methods
100% attendance at the block course is required. Completion is by credit.
