Course objectives
The course aims to equip students with basic terminology used in connection with the main topics of school education and support students in developing their own professional language and identity. It brings theoretical insights into current issues of school education while accentuating the topics of humanistic school, heterogeneity and differentiating in education.
Learning outcomes
Students acquire specific theoretical and practical knowledge and skills concerning curriculum, school and instruction. The course also serves as an opportunity to reflect and cultivate one's own professional identity.
Syllabus
  • The course combined issues and topics from a variety of traditional pedagogy and didctics disciplines: theory of education, general didactics, philosophy of education, history of education etc. The course serves as a propedeutics for field didactic disciplines and aims to develop professional motivation of the students. Discussed topics include philosophy of education, the school as an institution, curriculum, teacher and the teaching profession and the pupil as a child of a certain age.
