- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to develop speaking skills at the Pre-Intermediate Level. The basic study material is the coursebook New English File Pre-Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials. At the end of the course students are going to be able to discuss everyday topics and communicate in everyday situations.
- Syllabus
- The basic study material is the coursebook New English File PRE-INTERMEDIATE (Student's book and Workbook), see Literature bellow.
- 1st lesson: 1A Who is who? (Common verb phrases, classroom language) + 1B Who knows you better? (Family, personality adjectives)
- 2nd lesson: 1C At the Moulin Rouge (The body, prepositions of place),1D The Devil's Dictionary (Expressions for paraphrasing; like, for example, etc.)
- 3rd lesson: 2A Right place, wrong time (Holidays)
- 4th lesson: 2B A moment in time (Prepositions of time and place: at, in, on)
- 5th lesson: 2C Fifty years of pop (Question words, pop music) + 2D One October evening (Verb phrases)
- 6th lesson: 3A Where are you going? (Look after, look for, etc.), (Verb + back)
- 7th lesson: 3B The pessimist's phrase book (Opposite verbs) + 3C I'll always love you
- 8th lesson: 3D I was only dreaming (Verb + prepositions)
- 9th lesson: 4A From rags to riches (Clothes), 4B Family conflicts (Verb phrases)
- 10th lesson: 4C Faster, faster! (Time expressions: spend time, waste time, etc.)
- 11th lesson: 4D The world's friendliest city (Opposite adjectives)
- 12th lesson: 5A Are you a party animal? (verbs +inf), 5B What makes you feel good? (verbs followed by -ing)
- 13th lesson: 5C How much can you learn in a month? (modifiers: abit, really, etc.), 5D The name of the game (prepositions of movement, sport)
