- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is the development of communication competence in the Russian language with a focus on pedagogical communication. Within thematic areas, students develop speech skills, the ability to interact and mediate in oral and written speech in Russian.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- communicate fluently within the topics discussed;
- analyze grammatical and phonetic correctness in intercultural conversation;
- analyze pragmatic elements of oral and written interaction;
- propose methodological procedures for teaching RJ in elementary school classes with a focus on grammatical and phonetic correctness of spoken and written speech. - Syllabus
- 1) A look back - a step forward: the history of the development of approaches to teaching foreign languages.
- 2) Traditions and innovations in language learning - from the alphabet to the Internet.
- 3) Language harmony: why correct speech is important.
- 4) Ecosystem for obtaining information: read and listen carefully.

- Teaching methods
- Work with audio and videomaterials, with printed and written texts, conversations in groups and in pairs, presentations, development of tasks based on the Task-based learning method, error analysis of student texts, providing peer feedback, writting an essay.
- Assessment methods
- Requirements for admission to the exam are active participation in class and regular assessment and doing the required home assignments.
The course ends with exam, which consists of two parts.
In the written part, grammatical and lexical knowledge is checked based on the topics covered in semester. The test must be written for 75%.
After passing the written test, the oral part follows, which includes:
- analysis and correction of errors in the test,
- a conversation on one of the lexical topics, acquired during the semester,
- creation of a dialogue in pairs for a specified situation.
Duration of the oral part 20-30 minutes.
Language correctness and the level of communication and interaction skills in written and oral speech are assessed. - Language of instruction
