Course objectives
The aim of this subject is to broaden the information and knowledge gained from the subject of Communication of deaf persons 1. The student will have an overview of communication systems used by deaf people, especially visually-motorized forms of communication. Students will acquire theoretical knowledge in the field of building functional communication in children with hearing impairment at early, preschool and school age. They will focus on the choice of suitable communication forms for people with hearing impairment with an emphasis on visual-motor communication systems - the use of the Czech sign language, the Czech and the alphabet.
Learning outcomes
• the student is oriented in the area of developing of functional communication and choice of adequate communication system with respect to all age categories and types of hearing impairment
• orientated in the area of visual and motor communication systems of the deaf
• orientated in the basics of linguistics of the Czech sign language
• they will acquire selected visual-motor communication systems for hearing impaired people
