Course objectives
Psyche changes relations in various stages of development. The study leads to an acquisition of understanding the elements and governing principals of the processes in mental development, including understanding the dynamics of changes in mental development process, focusing on both, the process of mental development as a whole, as well as the distinctive aspects of its individual developmental stages. In each of the individual developmental stages, the study focuses on not only the quality of the rational-cognitive processes and imaginative-emotional functions, but also on the influence and impact of partial factors such are accelerators, stressors, etc; in a subject-object interaction. This study is also discussing the issues of the likely difficulties in adaptability, various dysfunctions and illnesses, and it points out the likely reasons. It also offers suggestions how to optimize care-giving, upbringing, and education. At the end of this course, the students should be able to:; understand and tell to an individual developmental stages of the child; interpret the knowledge about the changes in development of the individual psychic functions; use the information about the changes in mental development in a special approach to children education;
Syllabus
  • Psyche expression overview in various stages of psychic evolution. The study program: 1. The concept and the factors of mental development and their governing principles. The Theory of Interaction. 2. A brief description of changes in human psyche during the individual developmental stages. 3. Factors of developmental changes' acceleration in the earliest stages of life, and their perils. 4. Specific signs in expression and behaviour of pre-school age children. 5. The qualitative growth in the Rational-Cognitive Processes in childhood and pre-puberty. 6. The growth in the Imaginative-Emotional functions during childhood and pre-puberty, and the respective changes. 7. External influences and their impact on mental development of an individual in childhood and pre-puberty. 8. Difficulties in adaptability, various disorders, and symptoms of neuroses in childhood and pre-puberty. 9. A brief look at different approaches used in upbringing children, and their impact on the forming of a child's personality. 10. A general definition of the individual stages in the process of growing up. The Puberty and Adolescence. 11. The quality of the Rational-Cognitive Processes in adolescents. 12. The developmental process of the Imaginative-Emotional Functions in adolescence. 13. The most important factors in the Subject-Object Interaction during adolescence. 14. The likely mental disorders and illnesses in adolescents. 15. Principles of an effective communication with adolescents, and the aspect of their maturity.
